The plant-loving “plant butler” trend has reached vampire society — except their gardens wake at night, not day.
Young vampires are cultivating plants that bloom or release fragrance only after sunset, a practice now known as Moon Gardening. Unable to care for typical sunlight-dependent plants, vampires are embracing flora suited to their nocturnal rhythm.
Favorites include Evening Primrose that opens at dusk, Night Blooming Jasmine with rich night scent, and Silver Artemisia that glows pale under moonlight.
Every Friday night, Midnight Gardening Club members meet at Hangang Park to showcase their plants and trade cultivation tips. “We live in darkness, yet flowers bloom most beautifully in night. That comforts us,” said club leader P.
Demand has sparked late-night florists and dedicated night-plant sections in flower markets. Instead of blood, vampires nurture life — healing emotional hunger through moonlit greenery.
