Valleys and Water Parks Are Dangerous Too? A Summer Vacation Safety Guide for Vampires

As summer deepens, news of water-related accidents has risen noticeably. Over the past month alone, several vampire-related incidents have been reported at mountain streams and large water parks. Most stemmed from a moment of carelessness—thinking "It'll be fine for just a second"—demanding heightened caution. What serves as a refreshing getaway for humans can be a surprisingly treacherous danger zone for us.

The biggest hidden trap is cold water. For those of us with naturally low body temperatures, icy valley streams or chilly wave pools can freeze our muscles in an instant. When muscles stiffen, mobility drops, leading directly to hazardous situations in the water. Added to this is the pressure of heavy crowds. Packed shoulder-to-shoulder with humans, the risk of exposing our identity skyrockets, not to mention that open bodies of water under relentless sunlight are hardly welcoming environments for our kind.

This summer, we recommend a slightly different approach to your vacation. First, private pools or secluded rental villas. You can adjust the water temperature and duration of your stay without worrying about prying eyes, making it the safest option. Second, indoor artificial beaches. You can enjoy the sand and water in a controlled environment free from direct sunlight and UV rays, even during the day. Finally, the night sea—our most natural choice. Once the sun has fully set, the coastline offers sparse crowds and zero UV concerns, allowing the night species to enjoy summer in absolute comfort.

Still, if you must visit a valley or water park, ensure you take essential precautions. Do thorough warm-up exercises before jumping in to loosen muscles prone to cramping, and generously reapply sunscreen for any daytime water activities. Do not forget sunglasses and wide-brimmed hats to shield against direct sunlight—essential gear for both disguise and safety.

Summer is long, and the night is on our side. Take care not to overexert yourself, and navigate this season in a way that truly suits our kind.
