Seven vampires fleeing in a tense, edge-of-your-seat chase. While their whereabouts remain a mystery, the VAMPIRE NOW Special Reporting Team headed to the restaurant near the desert where the fugitives were last spotted.

Keeping our vampire identities strictly hidden, we met with the human witnesses who had come face-to-face with the fugitives that night and interviewed them. To the oblivious humans, the fugitives were nothing more than “quirky tourists,” but buried within their offhand testimonies were decisive clues that only our species could recognize.

: “There was an uncanny liveliness to them. It felt like they were living in a world of their own.”
The otherwise quiet restaurant on a weekday evening was thrown into a stir at the arrival of the unfamiliar party. Human Employee A, who had been serving that night, recalled the night’s atmosphere as peculiarly charged and lively.

Q. (Reporting Team) Do the guests from that night particularly stand out in your memory?
[Employee A]: “Yes, it’s impossible to forget them. It was a weekday, so the restaurant was mostly quiet, but that one table was unusually loud. They were playing darts and arm-wrestling each other... The sound of their laughter never stopped. At first, I thought they were just a group of energetic young travelers, but looking back, something seemed off. They hardly touched their food and kept glancing out the window, looking anxious.”

Human Guest B, who was present at the scene, testified that he joined them in playing games. He is the only witness to have directly experienced the extraordinary strength of the fugitive vampires.

Q. (Reporting Team) So you went head-to-head with them in an arm-wrestling match?
[Human Guest B]: “I stepped up first for a match, half jokingly. I figured I’d win because I was bigger than them. But their power was unreal. While I strained with all my might, one of them didn’t even blink and just twitched a finger—yet the table trembled under the force. To be honest... I was completely thrown off.”

Q. (Reporting Team) Were there any other peculiarities?
[Human Guest B]: “Oh, I do remember one more thing. When we clasped hands, I noticed his hand was incredibly cold. It was a pretty hot day, but his hand was as cold as ice. Thinking about it now gives me goosebumps. Even so, the general mood was great. It felt like we were old friends or brothers.”

Q. (Reporting Team) Was that the last time you saw them?
[Human Guest B]: “Yes, that was the last time. We were having fun together, and then they suddenly got up and hurried out. It really happened in an instant. You could say they disappeared like the wind.”

: “It’s not what’s being said in the news. There was definitely a woman with them.”
After leaving the pub, they were spotted again on a deserted road near the desert. Witness C, a human truck driver who was driving through the night, reportedly couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw them moving through the desert.

Q. (Reporting Team) You saw them in the middle of the desert?
[Truck Driver C]: “It was around late afternoon... The sun was just about to set, so the heat in the desert was intense. I saw someone walking in the distance. At first, I thought I was seeing things. Walking barefoot right across the middle of the desert under that blazing sun just doesn’t make sense by normal human logic. Slowing down to take a closer look, I saw it was a group walking in a line.”

Q. (Reporting Team) Weren’t there seven of them?
[Truck Driver C]: “The news has been saying there are seven wanted criminals, but I definitely saw eight people. The one at the very back was a bit smaller... and had long hair. It was a woman. There was a woman walking with those seven guys who were on the news. I’m sure I didn’t see it wrong.”

[Editor’s Note] Based on the testimony of these human witnesses, it appears the fugitives concealed their vampire identities and took a brief rest among humans. However, with the “eighth member” of the group witnessed by the truck driver—that is, this human woman—the investigation is about to enter a new phase.
